SMASHBOX Covershot eye palette

Happy Wednesday, lovely beauties!😃

I wanted to share a eyeshadow palette, that I bought several weeks ago with you. It's from SMASHBOX, called the Covershot eyeshadow palette. The one I chose was the Metallic shades.

(Don't be surprised in the size, it is small-fitting into one hand. Cool packaging though, easy to open.)

This palette retails for $29 and has 8 metallic shades. All shades are metallic with sheen, varying in color. As I am usually observant, I noticed if you split it in half there is a warm side of colors and the other half is cooler in tone. None of the shades appeared glittery or over the top 😱when I swatched them.

Be aware, there are no matte shades in this palette. Upon testing these out, the texture was smooth and easy to blend. When using the lighter shades some additional layering may be necessary in achieving your desired look. Applying a shadow base will certainly help in wear time and higher pigment overall, even though the darker shades did apply well in color without it. 

If you are a wearer of consistent matte shades and smokey eyes, then I think you might like this palette in adding something different to your everyday routine. You can lighten it up for Spring and still look fabulous in standing out! I would still be sure to add a matte shade if you want to even out the sheen in your crease or on your lid. 

For me, I love how easy this palette is for travel purposes. I love the shades.  Overall I found that I will need at least 2 matte shades, unfortunately. I want a more balanced look given my age and not so super sheen in pointing out any fine lines. 

I am fine with a little shine in creating a more glamourous eye look. I do think the shade selection is good.  Glad they didn't include a white or silver, which can give a very dated look to older eyes in the worst way possible! Lol......say no to the frost, ladies! Haha!

Do you see one you like??

Do you need this?  Is it extraordinary? Probably not, if you have many other eye palettes similar in shades. I would say for Smashbox, it is a different formula better than their regular line of shadows.

STILA-- Makeup Palettes from the past!

Good afternoon, makeup loves!

Are you not only a makeup lover, but a makeup collector? It's amazing when you have been buying for awhile as the years go by, things change. It seems every makeup brand changes their packaging even signature in how they sell their products.

Product packaging can be a true game changer for some companies in getting consumers to buy their products. Being a girl's girl even sometimes over the top in expressing my overall feminity, my beauty area is an explosion of such love & passion. Can you relate?

I glam it up, letting go and create an oasis of pink glamour, shiny things, and true beauty in my own definition. It gives me joy and peace! I love vogue, a cosmopolitan look with a vintage flair! Stila cosmetics delivered that to me, years ago......

I will admit I miss their old packaging and the cuteness of the drawings of glam figures. It was like an updated, classy Barbie design dressed fashionable for the runway! As I would pull out each palette, I had a name for each classy girl on the front cover. Lol.  Each one took me to a different time and place.

As you can imagine, its hard for me to let go of things that hold such fond memories. I guess I am a hoarder, but in a good way! Does that make sense? I have such nostalgia for things of the past, even in my childhood. Sometimes, having that can ground us and pass it down to our children.

That is most of my Stila collection pictured above. I missed out on some others when Stila first released, bummer! But I love what I have.

BEE VENOM for your face!

Yes, you read right.....I said, bee venom for your face. I came across this unique yet, remarkable skincare ingredient about a year ago. As I was watching some beauty YouTube videos, I saw Tati a well-known YouTube do a video on a product called, Beeigma. She was sent the product for review and wanted to share her thoughts on how it worked for her.

The skincare product itself is expensive at over $100 for 1.7 fluid ounces. This powerful cream hails from New Zealand being filled with heavenly ingredients. The company itself insures, that no bees were harmed in making this skincare cream. Thought I would add that extra info for those concerned about our environment and surrounding ecosystems in nature.

Now for my thoughts..... for me as a wife, a mother, and budget conscience person I knew my husband would not like me spending over $100. I didn't take the plunge as I love my husband and want to stay married, lol! Just a little humor there. 😝However, I did find another product that caught my eye during a shopping trip. It was one that was much less and is from New Zealand as well containing most of the same powerful

ingredients, but for much less.

This bee venom mask felt creamy going on with a light scent not noticeable at all. Surprisingly, there is a warming stinging sensation 😱 as it begans to pentrate your skin. This sensation is what helps to pumps up your skin in increasing collagen while smoothing out any lines & wrinkles. I saw the results right away!

I kept the mask on for 15 minutes as recommended. The warming, stinging sensation did lessen and I did not have any other side effects, that were concerning . My face felt so smooth, appeared brighter, firmer and more evened in tone. I feel with continuous use this product will certainly make a difference in anti-aging changing results. I have used this product continuously for over 2 months. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!💕💕💕💕

Also, I have added a 3rd Bee Venom product in comparison to the 2 above for curiosity and testing purposes. The product is from Nip + Fab skin. It sells for $7.99 online.

After had trying the Lanocreme, my expectations were high in seeing results right away. I will admit in being honest, that I didn't notice a difference at all in seeing firmer, smoother skin. 😞 However, the product itself felt nice in hydrating my skin to the touch. I am not sure if in time if it will produce the results it claims with time as I only used it for 2 weeks. This product line does have bee venom products available online from ULTA. They vary in price and skincare need.

Nicole Guerriero GLOW KIT REVIEW

Hello Loves!

Well, I finally ordered the newly released, Anastasia Beverly Hills "Nicole Guerriero" glow kit. I have debated over the past year, if I was ever going to purchase one of these glow kits. I have looked over the previous released ones and found I liked some shades, but not all.

I am light to light-medium skin tone depending on the time of year. I am also almost 44 years old and I am young at heart as well, lol! For me, some days I like a little glow, a healthy one that shows off my best features. I needed to add something different to my collection and something I know I would use. The shades in this new release captured my eye and interest.

I have always liked rose-golds, bronzes, champagne, and coral shades. Also, this stood out to me more with Spring and Summer coming around the corner in being a perfect choice for looking my glowy-best!

I swatched each shade in seeing how concentrated the pigment is and the smoothness of application.

To start with some shades were more smooth than others as I rubbed my finger across each vibrant shade.  I decided to try one of the shades on. My choice was Kitty Kat. I chose that shade, since it seemed it would be quite complimentary to my skin tone and liking to my makeup application. Take a look for youself!

Lightly applied, across my cheeks.

I did this look in the evening in a room with soft lighting. Also, I went back and applied another dusting of the highlighter upon my cheek in seeing a stronger glow. 

Now my thoughts........would I recommend this glow palette? 

I would say, yes! It is nice having a choice of different shades in one given palette and one that screams....fresh, bright, and compliments most skin tones.

PROS:                                                                      

  1. Nice shades for Spring and Summer 2017

     2. Can be applied lightly and built up to your preference

    3.  Good selection of varying shades for most skin tones

   4.  The highlighters can also be used to highlight the brow bone area, as an extra shadow, and a highlighter in the inner corner of the eye.

     5.  If you want to glow like a DIAMOND or give a shout out to the GLOW GODS, then you will find it in this palette!  LOL                                                            

 CONS:                                                                      1. Some shades feel more smooth than others in finger swatching, but doesn't affect 

application when using a

 makeup brush.

 2.  There  is some glitter in some of the shades, which can become chunky if applied heavily

   3. If you older like me (a.k.a....in your 40s & up) , but young at heart❤ in wanting some glow that appears more natural, you will find that not all shades in this palette will give that look.  Since the colors are pigmented, so is the gleaming glow, note a light hand is necessary while a heavy hand is cautioned.

*May draw more attention to texture in various skin types & with fine lines/wrinkles.

4.   Budget-wise, I would make sure that you go into a store location in swatching these shades to get a better idea if these are worth wearing to you and your dollars $$. There is nothing worse, than buyer's regret, wasted money, and having a product take up space in your drawer.
