LIVING A DREAM

I wanted to share what a great weekend I had this past weekend for 2 days straight.....Most know that I am makeup artist and just this past year, I decided to get back into my passion and art. I have embarked on a journey that was started some 19 years ago at the age of 21 years old. I have always loved makeup, doing makeup, and talking about makeup.

Since April of this year, I have been working hard to get my free-lance business running and get the word out that I am back again proving I am on a mission. Where my journey takes me is up to me and the people that I meet along the way. All I have said, is that all I need is to be given a chance to show my skills as an artist and hopefully being able to shine! I have many dreams and goals.

Along the way, I have met a great fellow makeup artist (Mikel Cain), one of which I have admired for some months now and he invited me to my 1st photo-shoot in many years. I  met some great people while I was there and did some makeup application as well. I brought my big kit,  already packed, a couple days in advance. I was so excited like a young child on Christmas morning. I stayed many hours, chatting,  exchanging conversation and getting to know my fellow makeup guru. Seeing him in action, carefully watching every technique and stroke of every brush, I knew I had found my place.

I learned so much within the 2 days and I am so happy to have had this opportunity. I am even more happier knowing that I have made a great friend who believes in me and is willing to give me more hands on experience, later on referring me to others in this field.   I believe timing is everything and this is my time, my second chance to do what I love while helping others feel good about themselves.

I am open to learning new techniques and never say that I know EVERYTHING either!! Since I am in my 40's now, I think I do know enough to say that you are never too old to learn or start living your dreams. My hope is that I can help my family financially giving my hard-working husband a hand on our bills to lessen the stress while still doing something that is fulfilling to my mind, body, and spirit.

Life is too short being miserable, passing time, feeling stuck and being unhappy!  I am still proud of my other titles/positions--wife, mother, and daughter. Although right now, I am living my dream part-time because of my other responsibilities, I will go full-time after I get my son through with school and that is only 4 years away!

I will be spending this time in building my clientele with advertising and referrals. I can only hope to have many more opportunities doing what I love! What is your dream, are you living it?? Please share, I would love to hear your story!!

Much Love and Hugs,

JOY
